Top meditation apps that will make a difference to your health
If you want to start, keep and maintain a meditation practice, I highly recommend downloading and using a meditation app. They are so easy and convenient and can really support our meditation practice. These apps can also help you in those moments that matter during the day.
There are several meditation apps available that can help support your mindfulness and meditation practice. Below are some of the options you can look into, some of these are free or have free options:
- Headspace: Headspace offers guided meditations for beginners and experienced practitioners. It covers various topics such as stress reduction, sleep improvement, and focus enhancement. This app. also has kids meditations which are great for little ones.
- Calm: Calm provides guided meditations, breathing exercises, sleep stories, and relaxing music to promote mindfulness and relaxation. It offers programs tailored to specific needs like anxiety reduction, improving sleep, and enhancing self-esteem. I personally LOVE this app.
- Insight Timer: Insight Timer offers a vast collection of guided meditations, music tracks, and talks from various teachers and traditions. It allows you to customize your meditation practice with different lengths and styles. As a yoga teacher myself, I upload my meditations on this app. and it is great to share meditations and enjoy a range of different teaching styles.
- Smiling Mind: Smiling Mind is an app designed to introduce mindfulness meditation to people of all ages, including children and teenagers. It offers guided meditations tailored to different age groups and includes programs for schools and workplaces.
- The Mindfulness App: This app. provides guided meditations, reminders for mindful pauses throughout the day, and a customizable meditation timer. It also includes a statistics feature to track your progress.
- Gaia app: This app is a favourite of mine and has an amazing yoga and meditation library. The yoga classes are for all levels and styles. This app includes meditation practices, breathwork practices, yoga and documentaries.
- 10% Happier: Developed by journalist Dan Harris, 10% Happier offers guided meditations and practical teachings from renowned meditation teachers. The app also provides videos and interviews exploring the science behind mindfulness and meditation.
- Aura: Aura is designed to help reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost positivity. It provides personalized mindfulness meditation exercises based on your mood and preferences.
- Stop, Breathe & Think: This app guides you through a range of meditation practices based on your emotions and needs. It incorporates a mood tracker, allowing you to check in with yourself and select the appropriate meditation.
- Buddhify: Buddhify offers a wide range of guided meditations for different life situations and activities, such as commuting, working, or taking a break. The app aims to make meditation accessible and applicable to daily life.
